Job description

Head of Quality is responsible for end-to-end product quality assurance. From the farm to the customer, the responsibility areas are, vendor management from quality standpoint, incoming RM/PM quality assurance, Plant quality assurance, Storage quality assurance, S&D quality assurance, Retailer quality assurance etc.

Responsible for implementing and maintaining food safety and quality assurance policies including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Prerequisite Programs (PRPs) and Validations

Establishes quality and reliability standards by studying product and consumer requirements with other members of management and with production operators, technicians, and engineers.

Driving PDCA culture across all levels in the organization and establish the organization as a highly Customer centric organization in the industry.

Liaison and co-operate with quality management systems and standards bodies (eg. FSSAI, EIA, USFDA- FSMA, Global Food Safety Standard -BRC etc.). Coordinate for the customer audits – Walmart, Tesco Food Safety Standard. Ensure that the all audits are conducted timely manner.

Responsible for the effective closures of non compliances raised by external auditors by implementing the effective corrective and preventive actions.

Ensure the quality controls are implemented and practiced effectively for all receiving, dispatch and online operations.

Carry out Risk assessments /Gap assessments to upgrade the Food system in line with new requirements and potential threats / hazards.

Ensure the Internal Quality audits are implemented as per the schedule and non compliances are closed effectively.

Single point of contact for Customer complaints ensuring the complaints are closed with sufficient measures to prevent recurrences. Prepare and monitor the trend analysis of customer complaints.

Develops a quality assurance staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Manages quality assurance staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees

Achieves financial objectives by preparing the quality assurance budget, scheduling expenditures, analysing variances, and initiating corrective actions.

Defining Long term Service Quality Vision, Road Map, Goals and strategic Initiatives inline with Company Vision, Goals and Strategy. Develop and maintain systems to establish standards relating to activities, products considering customer requirements.

Extend technical support to New Product Development in terms of process, finish product specs & quality attributes finalization. Support in terms of resourcing the ingredients, vendors etc.

Active participation in the Vendor selection & finalization. Conduct vendor risk assessment and plan the audit schedule.
