Summary of the Role The Vice President of Product & Risk for Lending is a senior leadership role, responsible for developing and implementing credit risk strategies and policies specific to lending, with a focus on patient loans. This role is also responsible for shaping product development by working closely with technology vendors, internal product and technology teams, and lending partners.

Roles & Responsibilities Credit Risk Strategy and Policy Development

: - Develop and maintain credit risk strategies and policies for personal loans, with a particular emphasis on patient loans. - Continuously review and refine these policies to adapt to changing market conditions, regulatory requirements, and business objectives. - Monitor and analyze industry trends and best practices to ensure the organization's competitiveness.

Partnerships

: - Develop and maintain relationships with lenders, credit bureaus, data providers, etc. - Work closely with the CBO to ensure that the business is profitable

Portfolio Management

: - Oversee the management of the patient loan portfolio, including credit quality, delinquency rates, and loss forecasting. - Implement strategies to optimize portfolio performance and maintain acceptable risk levels. - Develop and execute strategies for origination, underwriting, and portfolio management.

Risk Assessment and Modeling

: - Utilize advanced analytics and modeling techniques to assess credit risk within the personal loan portfolio. - Develop, validate, and maintain credit scoring models for patient loans. - Collaborate with data scientists and analytics teams to enhance risk assessment methodologies.

Regulatory Compliance

: - Ensure compliance with all relevant federal and state laws and regulations governing personal loans and consumer lending. - Maintain a comprehensive understanding of changing regulations and recommend necessary policy adjustments.

Team Leadership

: - Lead and mentor a team of credit risk professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. - Provide guidance and support for staff development, performance evaluations, and goal setting.

Stakeholder Collaboration

: - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, underwriting, and finance departments, to ensure alignment with credit risk policies. - Communicate with the executive team and board of directors to provide insights into the credit risk landscape.

Reporting and Analytics

: - Produce regular reports and presentations on credit risk performance, trends, and policy recommendations. - Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and measure the effectiveness of credit risk management strategies.

Professional Experiences - Minimum of 8 years of experience in credit risk management, with a strong background in personal loans and consumer lending. - Extensive knowledge of credit risk modeling, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance. - Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing high-performing teams. - Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. - Proficiency in data analytics and statistical tools. - Knowledge of relevant software and technology in credit risk management.
