Job description

The DIT (Digital Innovation Technology) Duck Creek Team seeks a Claims Configurator to join us in creating Duck Creek solutions that help drive Client’s Insurance and Enthusiast businesses. This position resides in the Duck Creek engineering organization, which is responsible for all constructs associated with the implementation and operation of Duck Creek.

The role requires the candidate to understand the business requirements as presented by the Module Owner and Business Analyst and translate them into claims configuration. The configurator must also be familiar with commonly used system-level configurations required to accomplish a given business objective within Duck Creek Claims products. The Solution Architect oversees the role. A successful Claims Configurator will be able to interact effectively with business and technical partners to achieve the given business objectives. They will be detail-oriented and able to use documentation tools to precisely document their work and monitor the work of their peers. They will be adept at remote work environments and interacting across time zones including off-shore. They will be able to accept feedback and incorporate it into the work that is being completed. Our client is using the SaaS version of the Duck Creek product so having hands-on use of this system is preferred over just the licensed version of the product.

What you’ll do:

Taking business requirements convert them into the necessary configurations in Claims v12+ Adjust system configuration level parameters to accommodate business requirements Accommodate the business requirements in as few steps as necessary Using thought leadership, ensure that the configuration committed is high-performance. Using API calls and AMIs to establish interfaces to 3rd party systems Build complex rules and processes to accommodate any business requirement the business may have Act as a subject matter expert in the area of Claims system configuration Test the code completely before committing it to the repository Create test case requirements for the code/configuration you develop Debug functional and performance defects in configuration until resolved Effectively design page layouts to meet business needs Interact effectively with sprint teams to plan and execute sprints This might describe you Competent communicator  You build understanding through collaboration Comfortable explaining technical concepts of the areas you are responsible for Contribute to discussions around product design and business concepts Able to use documentation techniques to communicate effectively within the team You understand the insurance business and how the configuration solves the business problems You know the details of the business that you are configuring for You know the right questions to ask at the right times to ensure that the configuration you are working on solves the intent of the problem, not just what is fully described in the requirements You have a knowledge of technology concepts within your domain Claims configuration standards: Page design standards API and AMI usage techniques and standards Duck Creek system topology Integration patterns and lifecycle XML transformation techniques Required Skills and Experiences 2+ years of P&C insurance industry experience with PL Auto product preferred 2+ years of Duck Creek Claims project implementation work with demonstrated success at o Configuring Claims o Incorporating interfaces o Working with Duck Creek OnDemand Detailed level understanding of the Claims DB and how it relates to Claims configuration Duck Creek Claims Certification Required via Duck Creek University
