Job description
We are seeking highly skilled and experienced
Senior Backend Developers to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our existing codebase, which is primarily written in Node.js and hosted on AWS Lambda . They will work closely with our integrations department to troubleshoot and resolve bugs reported in our payment processing APIs that connect to various external payment gateways. The role also involves extensive use of AWS services such as DynamoDB and RDS (MySQL) and may occasionally require front-end work with React and handlebars. Responsibilities • Maintain and improve the performance of existing software. • Clearly and regularly communicate with management and technical support colleagues. • Test and maintain software products to ensure strong functionality and optimization. • Recommend improvements to existing software programs as necessary. • Handle complex debugging and troubleshooting tasks. • Work collaboratively with the integrations department to understand and address reported issues. • Ensure secure coding practices are adhered to in all phases of the development lifecycle. • Document code consistently throughout the development process. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience. • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in backend development, specifically with Node.js. • Proficient in AWS services including Lambda, DynamoDB, and RDS. • Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, particularly MySQL and DynamoDB. • Experience with RESTful API development and integration. • Familiarity with front-end technologies such as React and handlebars. • Ability to debug complex systems and code. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment. • Experience with version control systems like Git. • Knowledge of payment gateway integrations and financial systems is a plus. • Must be comfortable working in an agile development environment. Additional Skills (Optional but preferred) • Experience with CI/CD pipelines. • Familiarity with secure coding practices and cybersecurity concerns. • Understanding of server less architecture.
