Job Description Title : Executive – Imports Department: Industry Location : Pune Reports To : Manager - Planning Company Profile Sika is a specialty chemicals company with a leading position in the development and production of systems and products for bonding, sealing, damping, reinforcing and protecting in the building sector and motor vehicle industry. Sika has subsidiaries in 101 countries around the world and manufactures in over 200 factories.
Overview Handle Inbound Import shipments, outbound deliveries / dispatches to customer. Interact with Overseas Suppliers, Customs, CHA's, Freight Forwarders, and Transporters. Adhere to instructions, policies, procedures & the business code of conduct. Avoid stock outs while maintaining inventory level within the permissible levels as decided by business.
Responsible to complete the Supply Chain cycle right from ordering material to payment to supplier. Shall be the link between Planning, Warehouse, Finance and all the related service providers & related appropriate functions. Subsequently the incumbent shall also be Material Planner for a category of products.
Duties And Responsibilities Materials Demand Planning, Local and Imports Order Management
- Analyse and order the materials requirement in line with the Consolidated Planning received for import items from the customer end.
- Coordinate with Local / Overseas SCM team about the requirement of materials & ensure timely availability of the same.
- Periodically Review the orders placed and stocks as per the forecasts changes informed by customers.
- Regular review stock maintained in ERP & monitor the same daily with appropriate action of customs clearance / Logistics arrangement for Local / Imported material.
- Coordinate with planning for changes in the forecast & accordingly manage the materials availability. Communicate proactively in case of delay in availability of any forecasted materials.
- Create weekly report on Requested MIR & circulate it to all the sales team for reference.
Job Description Import Customs Clearance / Local Buying - Liase with Custom House Agents (CHA) for all the import clearances which involves distribution of import documents to appropriate CHA, instructions for customs clearance, getting customs duty details & payment of the same in time.
- Coordinate with finance for timely payment of customs duty & also payment to Vendors & service providers as per the agreed payment terms.
- Monitor the clearance with the free period allowed by respective shipping lines, to avoid payment of any detention charges to customs. Generate the monthly report on the detention paid & make analysis of the same for future improvement.
- Ensure timely documents receipt from Vendors/Service providers to facilitate payments on time.
Logistic Management - Appointment of Freight Forwarder for Ex-works shipments.
- Co-ordinate with Inbound transportations.
- Co-ordinate with Insurance team for transit damages.
Qualifications/Experience - Graduate with Diploma in Supply Chain will be preferable, Minimum 3 / 4 years of experience in Imports.
Competencies Functional &
Behavioral - Working knowledge in ERP / SAP.
- Excellent communication skills with sound interpersonal skills to effectively deal with Local / Overseas suppliers.
- Proficient on excel for better time management.
- Problem solving ability & High level of self-motivation
