Job description
Responsibilities:
- Design and deploy wireless networks based on business requirements.
- Conduct site surveys to assess RF coverage, capacity, and interference.
- Implement and configure wireless infrastructure, including access points, controllers, and related hardware.
- Stay abreast of the latest wireless technologies, standards, and protocols.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as Wi-Fi, LTE, 5G, and others.
- Optimize wireless network performance by analyzing and adjusting configurations.
- Conduct periodic performance assessments and make recommendations for improvements.
- Implement and maintain security measures for wireless networks.
- Monitor and address security vulnerabilities, ensuring network integrity.
- Identify and resolve wireless network issues promptly.
- Provide technical support to end-users and collaborate with cross-functional teams for issue resolution.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of wireless network configurations.
- Create and update network diagrams, manuals, and standard operating procedures.
- Conduct capacity planning to ensure the scalability of wireless networks.
- Anticipate future network needs and recommend appropriate upgrades.
- Work closely with other IT professionals, including network engineers, system administrators, and security teams.
- Collaborate with vendors to evaluate new technologies and products.
- Provide training to end-users and IT staff on the proper use of wireless technologies.
- Stay informed about advancements in wireless technology and share knowledge with the team.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Wireless Engineer or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of wireless technologies, protocols, and standards.
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting wireless equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Industry certifications such as CWNP, Cisco CCNA/CCNP Wireless, or equivalent are a plus.
