Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network and Security Architect with a proven track record of success in complex hybrid network environments, particularly within big data companies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for urgently addressing current network issues, optimizing network performance, security posture, and establishing robust monitoring and alerting systems to prevent costly losses. Key Responsibilities: Troubleshooting and Remediation: Conduct a thorough audit of existing network infrastructure and configurations. Identify and resolve critical issues that are impacting performance and causing financial losses. Network Architecture and Optimization: Design and implement enhancements to our hybrid network architecture for improved scalability, security, reliability, and efficiency. Security Best Practices: Establish and enforce stringent security standards, protocols, and configurations in both cloud and on-premises environments. Implement industry-leading security measures to mitigate risks. Firewall Configuration and Management: Expertly configure, manage, and optimize firewalls across dedicated and cloud deployments. Ensure effective rule sets, policies, and intrusion detection/prevention systems are in place. Monitoring and Alerting: Design and implement comprehensive monitoring tools and systems. Proactively identify potential network and security threats through robust alerting mechanisms. Documentation and Knowledge Transfer: Develop clear and concise documentation of network configurations, security policies, and troubleshooting procedures. Provide training to internal IT staff to ensure long-term sustainability. Required Qualifications: Minimum of 8+ years of experience as a Network and Security Architect or Engineer in a large-scale, big data environment. Deep expertise in network design, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), VPN technologies, and load balancing. In-depth knowledge of firewall technologies (e.g., Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, Fortinet). Hands-on experience with cloud security architecture, protocols, and solutions (AWS, Azure, or GCP preferred). Strong understanding of security standards like PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOC-2, or similar. Proven ability to establish and maintain robust monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Splunk). Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Desired Qualifications: Relevant network and security certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CISSP). Experience with scripting or automation tools for network and security management (Python, Ansible).
