Key Responsibilities: you will be responsible for overseeing and enforcing safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees within the manufacturing facility. You will collaborate with various departments to identify potential hazards, develop safety policies, and implement preventative measures to mitigate risks. Responsibilities: Develop and Implement Safety Policies: Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations and industry best practices. Conduct Safety Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of the manufacturing facility to identify potential hazards, unsafe conditions, and practices. Document findings and recommend corrective actions. Training and Education: Organize and conduct safety training sessions for employees on topics such as proper equipment usage, emergency procedures, and hazard identification. Ensure all employees are aware of safety protocols and regulations. Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into workplace accidents, injuries, and near misses. Analyze root causes and develop strategies to prevent recurrence. Maintain detailed records of incidents and their outcomes. Safety Audits and Compliance: Conduct periodic safety audits to assess compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Collaborate with regulatory agencies as necessary and ensure all safety-related documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Safety Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance and inspection of safety equipment, including personal protective equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, and emergency response tools. Coordinate the procurement of new equipment as needed. Emergency Response Planning: Develop and implement emergency response plans for various scenarios, such as fires, chemical spills, or natural disasters. Coordinate drills and training exercises to ensure preparedness. Safety Culture Promotion: Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability among all employees. Encourage active participation in safety initiatives and provide recognition for compliance with safety protocols. Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about changes in safety regulations and standards relevant to the manufacturing industry. Ensure the organization remains compliant with all applicable laws and regulations. Collaboration: Collaborate with management, department heads, and safety committees to address safety concerns and develop strategies for continuous improvement. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field. Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., OSHA 30-hour General Industry certification). Previous experience in industrial safety management, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of safety regulations, codes, and standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA, ANSI). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
