1 to 2 Years Work Hours: 3 to 4 Hours Job Summary: The Speech Therapist and Rehab Psychologist is a dual-role position responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with speech, language, and communication disorders, as well as providing psychological support and strategies to assist patients in overcoming psychological challenges related to their rehabilitation process. This role requires a unique blend of expertise in speech-language pathology and rehabilitation psychology to support holistic patient care and recovery. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to diagnose speech, language, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders, along with psychological assessments to understand the impact of psychological factors on rehabilitation. Develop and implement integrated treatment plans that address both communication disorders and psychological aspects of patient care, ensuring a holistic approach to rehabilitation. Provide direct therapy for speech and language disorders, along with psychological counselling and support to help patients and their families cope with the emotional and psychological challenges of rehabilitation. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including medical professionals, and physical and occupational therapists, to coordinate care and optimise patient outcomes. Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and maintain detailed documentation of patient care, therapy sessions, and outcomes.
