Job description
Role & responsibilities
The role serves in active partnership on all supply related questions from business partners (BO Management, Demand Manager, Product Quality, Sales, Logistics, Customers Service, Manufacturing and Supply Planner). This person will work closely with Global planning and functionally reports to the Supply Chain Manager.
Major Job Duties:
Monitor and optimize supply plans to maximize value through a focus on asset optimization, plant balancing, logistics costs, inventory control, and product transition minimization.
Manage all site scheduling within appropriate systems (i.e., SAP, OMP, etc.) and effectively communicate planning strategy with impacted stakeholders.
Lead weekly cross-functional OPEX Supply Meeting
Responsible for Master Data management on an ongoing basis.
Monitor key S&OE and S&OP metrics.
Provide demand forecasts to raw material supply planner based on the Master Production Schedules (MPS).
Seek opportunities to optimize raw material stocking and procurement strategies in collaboration with Supply Manager.
Support ABP plant balancing and reconciliations.
Assist in development of logistics requirements forecast in collaboration with Logistics Business Lead and Supply Manager.
Identify, recommend and/or manage forecast adjustments prior to the supply planning process.
Evaluate new business opportunities and provide assessment of supply capability.
Model "what-if" scenarios and propose optimized solutions based on variable supply/demand conditions.
Identify and support inventory optimization opportunities.
Monitor and manage supply availability and status at assigned warehouse locations
Assist with inventory adjustment analysis including storage location proposals.
Execute the business plan inventory targets. Refresh the safety stock, target stock and cycle stock calculations a minimum of twice a year or when there has been a significant change in demand.
Support Supply Manager in providing capacity utilization and inventory forecasts for key finished product and raw materials in monthly S&OP process.
Provide report inputs or updates. Continually seek ways to improve information visibility and availability.
Assist in site process and cost improvement projects.
Provide back-up for other Scheduling/Planning positions.
Actively participate in training and sharing knowledge with others.
Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of key customers, markets and products in area of responsibility.
Improve planning effectiveness via development and/or enhancement of planning models, processes and tools. Share best practices with planning community.
Identify, communicate, and escalate variances from plan. Manage and resolve variances and exceptions.
Interface with Materials Handling, Manufacturing, Logistics, QA, Receiving, Purchasing, and other planning groups regarding raw material procurement issues.
Preferred candidate profile
Bachelor or Master degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering or related business fields is required;
APICS CPIM or comparable certification is a strong pre, demonstrated experience with planning & inventories
Minimum of 1 years of, Planning or Supply Chain experience in an International environment;
Good analytical skills;
Good advanced Excel skills;
Fluent in English is required, both verbal and written. Additional languages are a plus;
Experience with SAP / ERP system is a plus.
