Technical Leadership
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of machine learning engineers, setting best practices and standards for development.
- Mentor team members, conduct code reviews, and facilitate knowledge sharing to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Algorithm Development and Implementation
- Manage and contribute to the development, deployment, and optimization of machine learning models and algorithms to build product recommendation systems, enhance targeting strategies , improved product discovery to drive personalization of customer touchpoints.
- Develop a robust demand planning and forecasting model and framework. A nalyz e historical sales data, market trends, and other relevant factors to forecast future demand for digital business and play a critical role in optimizing capacity, inventory , s upply chain operations, and business decision-making.
- Drive application of ML/AI in Fulfilment and Last mile process by enhancing substitution models, optimizing picker paths, improving product allocation, determining optimal routes for delivery, etc, to build efficiencies, improve profitability and elevate delivery experience for customers.
Scalability and Performance Optimization
- Ensure scalability and efficiency of machine learning models for large-scale production deployment, optimizing for speed and performance.
- Implement strategies to handle real-time data processing and continuous model updates in production environments
Performance Monitoring and Improvement
- Establish metrics and KPIs to evaluate the performance and impact of machine learning initiatives.
- Continuously monitor and enhance model accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness through iterative improvements and optimizations
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing
- Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of machine learning models, codebase, and processes for reference and onboarding purposes.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing within the team and across departments through presentations, workshops, and documentation.
Coordination and Communication
- Collaborate and partner with following digital teams to drive respective KPIs and build a data driven culture for Product, Marketing, LM/FF
- Build relationships and maintain strong partnerships with key personnel to help achieve organisational goals
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the digital analytics function
Audit and Reporting
- Support on the preparation of business presentations and reports related to digital analytics function for various stakeholders, on periodic and ad hoc basis as and when required
- Perform regular audit of various processes and databases for the digital analytics function in order to identify gaps and risks, and propose corrective actions
Policies and Procedures
- Review and update the digital analytics function policies and procedures related and ensure it is implemented and reported on as a part of the policies and procedures for the digital analytics function
- Contribute to the development and implementation of relevant policies and procedures
Human Capital Responsibilities
- Assist with the implementation of the performance management process by setting objectives, monitoring performance, and provide constructive feedback and provide inputs to senior management
- Provide mentorship for the purpose of developing a continuous talent pipeline for key roles
- Provide inputs on training needs and coordinate with the HC department to ensure facilitation of training requirements
- Develop and implement on the job-training for the team
- Provide inputs for the development of annual manpower plan
- Ensure the implementation of Retail's corporate policies and relevant procedures
Qualification, Experience & Skills:
Minimum Qualifications/education
- Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, is required
- Master's Degree in the same field is preferred
Minimum experience
- 6+ years of experience in Machine Learning , Predictive Analytics, Data Science, any other data-related roles within AI umbrella.
- 2+ years in a large-scale operating e-commerce business is preferred
Skills
- Strong understanding of E-commerce and retail business
- Capable of aligning ML/AI initiatives with overall business strategy, enhancing revenue growth, customer experiences, and operational efficiency
- Expertise in machine learning techniques, algorithms, and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) with a strong grasp of statistical analysis, data modeling, and optimization
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java for developing and deploying machine learning models and managing data pipelines
- Proficiency in analytical tools and programming languages such as SQL or other data analysis tools. Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to present insights effectively
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities with proven ability to develop strategic relationships with senior leadership stakeholders. Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills to build and manage a high-performing data team
- Strong ability to influence process owners and prompt a response for the leader/team needs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills expertise in converting technical messages into clear messages that outline why change is needed that appeals to key business personas
- Strong ability to articulate the big picture with or without details and work in ambiguous situations
- Strong English language skills (Speaking, Reading and Writing) with exceptional business writing
