ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Conduct thorough psychological assessments to identify and address students' academic, emotional, and behavioral needs.

- Provide one-on-one and group counseling sessions to support students dealing with personal challenges, academic difficulties, or mental health issues.

- Conduct engaging resilience-building sessions using diverse modalities that captivate students' interest and prove effective for their personal development.

- Work closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to foster a collaborative approach in addressing students' needs and creating a supportive environment.

- Train teachers with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to seamlessly integrate resilience skill-building into their classrooms, fostering emotional well-being.

- Develop and implement behavior intervention plans for students displaying challenging behaviors, collaborating with educators to create a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

- Design and implement proactive preventive programs to address issues such as bullying, substance abuse, and mental health awareness within the school community.

- Guide teachers on effective teaching strategies and classroom management techniques to support diverse learning needs.

- Demonstrate competence in working with a diverse student population, recognizing and addressing the unique needs of students from different backgrounds.

REQUIREMENTS

- Masters Degree in Counseling/Clinical/Applied Psychology

- A minimum of 2 years of experience working with children

- Experience conducting specialized psychometric assessments and treatment plans

- Proficient with various psychological therapies and ability to integrate various therapy forms based on individual needs

- Experience conducting risk assessments and identifying children needing immediate intervention

- Ability to train and equip teachers with the skills necessary to identify students struggling with mental health issues.Â

- Should have a genuine interest in the well-being of underprivileged Indian youth

- Should possess excellent interpersonal skillsÂ

- Should be fluent in Tamil and English

- Should be based in Chennai
