Unique Mentors, a reputable education management company, is currently hiring for the position of Optometry Tutor. This is an exciting opportunity to share your expertise and passion for optometry with aspiring optometrists.
As an Optometry Tutor, your primary responsibility will be to provide comprehensive and hands-on training to students in the field of optometry. You will play a crucial role in preparing students for successful careers in optometry by mentoring and instructing them on various topics, including vision assessment, diagnosing eye conditions, prescribing corrective lenses, and managing eye health. Your guidance will help students develop the necessary clinical skills, critical thinking abilities, and patient communication techniques required for the profession.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and interactive lessons on optometry topics, ensuring students grasp and retain the information effectively.
- Provide one-on-one guidance and mentorship to students, helping them develop clinical skills and critical thinking abilities.
- Create and update course materials, lesson plans, and assessments.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
- Facilitate hands-on practical training and lab sessions, ensuring students gain proficiency in optometry techniques and equipment usage.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements and best practices in optometry.
- Collaborate with fellow optometrists and educators to enhance teaching methodologies and course curricula.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing optometrist.
- Hold a Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in vision assessment, diagnosing eye conditions, prescribing corrective lenses, and managing eye health.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to effectively teach and mentor students.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of clinical excellence.
