JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position title: Design Engineer-Plastic Insert
Location: Khed City Industrial Park
Work Schedule: Mon to Sat (2nd and 4th Sat working, rest off)
Duties and Responsibilities
To develop new plastic insert designs (3D and 2D) for wheels in collaboration with the Project Team members (Product Engineer, CAE Simulation Engineer, Process Engineers, Program Manager), Customer and Supplier, respecting the project requirements (performance, quality, timing).
· Designing plastic inserts for wheels that satisfy technical requirements for the intended product and process, ensuring reliability during operation as well as product manufacturability and quality.
· Designing plastic insert for wheels based on technical standards and guidelines, considering process simulations results (if available) and lessons learned from other projects.
· Proposing potential adjustments in the mold designs in order to improve the plastic insert performance.
· Proposing improvements to current plastic design standards and guidelines based on new knowledge or positive experiences of previous projects.
· Ensuring the effective management of Mold CAD design information and releases for construction.
DUTIES
To develop plastic insert design – Styling, Models and drawings
· Prepare preliminary design of the plastic insert.
· Review design with project team: Process Engineering and Plant Engineering.
· Prepare final drawings and 3D models for mold construction according to Standards.
· Communicate specifications to build molds.
· Ensure technical support in building the molds.
To provide CAD mold design data and development of mold flow Simulations
· Prepare CAD data required by mold flow Simulation Engineers
· To develop mold flow simulation and according to results observed during simulations.
To support other departments activities
· Cooperate in other projects with other departments that need CAD support in plastic insert Design.
· Support mold validation processes by providing as required CAD data for dimensional or functional evaluations.
To keep control of CAD data and the information shared.
· Ensure compliance of control for the CAD data
· Ensure the controlled communication of CAD data with suppliers and internally.
· Ensure application of CAD Standards.
Educational Qualification:
· B.E/ B. Tech
Work Experience:
· Minimum number of years of experience essential to build up the knowledge to carry out the duties described above: 6-8 years.
· PC Applications (Microsoft Office)
· CATIA V5 or NX , alternative CAD software can be referenced.
· AUTOCAD or equivalent software.
· Good English knowledge (Fluent)
· Engineering Degree or similar technical education (Technical High School or equivalent).
· Basic knowledge of plastic material and processes related to plastic.
· Basic knowledge of Plastic injection mold Design and Mold materials and standards
· Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
