Job description
Objectives of this Role
Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure
Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers
Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
Testing and examining code written by others and analysing results
Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and fixes
Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
Planning out projects and being involved in project management decisions
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
Deploy updates and fixes
Provide Level 2 technical support
Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience
Perform root cause analysis for production errors
Investigate and resolve technical issues
Develop scripts to automate visualization using tools like Kibana
Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
Skills Required
Experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role
Proficient with git and git workflows
Strong experience on development of Microservices and cloud native apps (Azure).
Strong working experience on Docker and Orchestration tools like Mesos, Kubernetes and Docker Swarm
Working knowledge on queuing services like RabbitMQ, Kafka.
Basic Knowledge on development of Java, Spring Boot.
. Strong experience on CICD tools like Jenkins, Bamboo, Azure DevOps (Pipelines, Release pipelines, Azure DevOps Boards)and GitlabCI.
. Experience with Hashicorp Terraform, Packer and Vagrant- Experience with scripting in Bash, Python.
. Experience with Container platforms and Cloud Services using Identity, Storage, Compute, Automation, Disaster Recovery (Kubernetes, Helm, Istio)
. Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Application Insights.
. Understanding of Microsoft Azure (Management groups, Azure policies, AKS, key vault, Application Insights, Application Gateway)
Strong Experience in Python, including language, standard libs, pythonic coding.
. Working knowledge of databases like MySql, SQL, PgSql and MongoBD
Knowledge on APM integration with apps, APM tools like (Elastic, New relic tools).
