Job description
The HCL Infrastructure DBA is responsible for delivery of complex enterprise infrastructure projects, on public clouds, private clouds, and hybrid. This individual will be responsible for the design, deployment, and management of database infrastructure in support of HCL Software’s Cloud Products. Strong knowledge of modern database types: key/value, NoSQL, and Relational database products including MongoDB, DB2, Postgres, Redis, and Aerospike. Experienced in tuning database performance, analyzing system performance, understanding storage technologies and their impact on database performance. Massively scalable system experience.
Experience: Qualified candidates should have 5+ years of experience and a demonstrated track record in the successful design, delivery, and support of complex multi-product database products in public or private cloud environments. The role requires a 4-year university degree. Responsibilities: Under leadership of lead technical architect: design of complex database solutions including relational, NoSQL, and key / value databases, in support of business requirements in support of the deployment of HCL Software products. Deploy both containerized and high performance standalone clustered database systems, Knowledgeable about security requirements including encryption in transit and at rest, vulnerability management, access controls, database encryption. Troubleshoot and tune the performance of the database by analyzing performance and making changes to achieve system design targets. Design database resiliency strategies including backup strategies, disaster recovery, and clustering strategies. Patching of the database as required to maintain currency and remediate vulnerabilities. Deployment of monitoring systems to ensure ongoing system performance. Design and implementation of database maintenance scripting and tasks as required to assure ongoing performance. Design storage subsystems that meet system and database performance goals Participate in disaster recovery exercises. Support data migration and mass data load requirements. Products: Strong database experience including MongoDB, DB2, Oracle, Aerospike, Postgres. VMWare experience is a plus. AWS, Google Cloud, Azure a plus. Windows, Redhat and/or other major Linux variants. Travel: 15% +/- travel required. Location: India based: Navi Mumbai or willing to relocate. Compensation: Base salary, plus bonusJob tags
