Job description

As a Network Administrator at Bureau Veritas, your role is to assist in managing and maintaining organization's computer network infrastructure. You will work under the guidance of senior network administrators, SMEs / Leads, and Managers to ensure the smooth functioning and security of the network.

As a Network Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the organization's network infrastructure while gaining valuable experience and knowledge in the field of networking.

• Network Setup and Configuration: Assist in the setup and configuration of network devices, including HPE Aruba switches and access points, Forcepoint SDWAN & SSL VPN, Checkpoint & Palo Alto firewalls, Pulse Secure Appliances, and Netskope ZTNA.
• Cloud Networking: Handle networking tasks on AWS & Azure Cloud Platforms under guidance of Cloud SMEs.
• Network Monitoring: Monitor network performance and availability using Solarwinds & Grafana network monitoring tools. Identify and troubleshoot network issues and anomalies.
• User Support: Provide technical support to end-users for network-related problems. Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues and network access problems.
• Network Security: Assist in implementing and maintaining network security measures, such as firewalls and access controls.
• Network Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
• Software and Hardware Updates: Help in installing and updating network software and hardware components, including firmware updates and security patches.
• Project Management: Handle Network Migrations, Integration, Standardization, Clean-Up projects as per agreed schedule and in adherence to defined process & procedures.
• Network Troubleshooting: Collaborate with senior administrators to diagnose and resolve network issues by analysing network logs, traffic, and performance data.
• Network Performance Optimization: Work with the team to optimize network performance and ensure efficient data flow.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with the IT teams and other departments to support the organization's network infrastructure needs.
• Network Inventory: Maintain an inventory of network devices, licenses, and equipment.
• Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest networking technologies, trends, and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• A degree or diploma in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, SNMP etc.).
• Knowledge of network devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
• Basic understanding of Windows/Linux OS, AWS/Azure Cloud Networking, Network security principles and best practices.
• Troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve network issues.
• Ability to work in a team and collaborate with colleagues effectively.
• Strong communication skills to provide technical support to end-users.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
