Job description
Radici Plastics INDIA PVT LTD is the indian company of the High Performance Polymers Business Unit of RadiciGroup, one of the world's leading producers of a wide range of chemical intermediates, polyamide polymers, engineering plastics, synthetic fibres, with approximately 3,000 employees, and a network of production and sales sites located throughout Europe, North America, South America and Asia.
The Head of R&D and QC Radici Plastics India Ltd. is responsible to ensure continuous improvement in product quality and guarantees the continue growth and success of the department by ensuring that all employees through adequate training meets or exceeds the stablished guideline and procedure.
The candidate will work in R&D & QC Function and will report directly to the Business Head of Radici Plastics India Ltd.
Responsabilities
- lead, Manage and improve the R&D and QC Department
- manage training and team development
- provide technical leadership in the development of materials to meet customer needs or to provide the company with a competitive or strategic advantage, in agreement and under the coordination of the Global R&D Manager (BP and MI projects)
- promote the introduction of new/innovative raw materials (proposed by the Supply Chain or directly by interested manufacturers/suppliers)
- promote and implement Lean Manufacturing practices and Product & Process optimization aiming to Cost & Energy Saving
- support the testing and approval process for new raw materials
- take action to correct any non-conformities
- follow the SCALE UP process from the pilot line to the industrial line, as well as all activities related to the inter-site transfer process of standard finished products (from Radici Performance Plastics sites to India and vice-versa), in coordination with R&D, QC Compounding Technical Assistance and QA of the correspondent RPP site
- set up and perform appropriate PPAP trials
- work with other relevant functions to analyze internal non-conformities, customer claims, and process issues. Decide and implement preventive and corrective actions, and review project and process FMEAs and related control plans
- define and keep updated the Quality Control Plans as regards either Raw Materials and Finished Goods, in compliance with the procedures, processes and measurements methodologies as defined by Radici Performance Plastics HQ
- take care of the CPs as above defined are correctly applied during all the different phases of the Production Process, from the Raw Materials acceptance, the In-Line controls, up to the Finished Goods final testing and releasing
- manage all the QC-concerning activities (sampling, testing, recording, and reporting) by th appropriate use and implementation of the QC Data-Management System (Pro-Lab)
- issue Technical Report or COA, Technical and Safety Data Sheets for each product
- support the collection and perform proper Statistical Analysis of QC data (including but not limited to Cp, Cpk, pp, ppk) to define and keep updated the most appropriate Product Specifications in compliance with specific Customer's requirements
- support the measuring instruments purchasing, installation, recording, maintenance and periodical calibration, in order to enhance continuously the lab-testing capabilities and efficiency
- maintain and recommend the procurement of lab equipment and coordinate the supply needs of the QC Lab
- support the drafting and review of all relevant departmental documentation (operating procedures, operating instructions, laboratory manual, control plans, employee skills matrix, etc.)
- coordinate, test and report the Proficiency Testing Indicators and publishing the data
Technical Knowledge
- experience in Engineering Plastics sector
- knowledge of Compounding/Polymerization/Chemical process
- specific knowledge and expertise with PA, PBT, POM, and TPE engineering and plastics preferred
- knowledge of CRM Module/Siebel and SAP are considered a plus
- knowledge of Windows programs: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Job requirements
- B Tech Polymer/Chemical Degree/ Masters in Chemistry
- minimum 10 years, post qualification experience
