Currently, the company is in the expansion stage as we have commenced our vehicle deliveries in Bangalore with over 70+ vehicles on road. Role: Principal Engineer - Prototyping
Responsibilities:
1. Will be responsible for the delivery of prototype sub-assemblies, vehicles, battery packs and other peripheral components at various stages of the product development cycle till mass production.
2. Will be involved in design of proto fixtures and gauges required to meet dimensional/ functional/ aesthetic intent for components and sub-assemblies.
3. Will be responsible for sourcing/ manufacturing of prototype mechanical and electrical components through low volume manufacturing methods till mass production kick-off. Will be involved in techno-commercial discussions with vendors to meet cost and timeline goals for each project.
4. Will be responsible for inventory maintenance of prototype components of electrical and mechanical sub-systems for R&D purposes.
5. Will be interacting with the design team in establishing inspection procedures and CTQs along with feasibility study for mechanical and electrical systems in the vehicle and will also be responsible for undertaking inspection activities of prototype components through CMM, 3D scanning or other manual inspection methods.
6. Will be responsible for the build and timely delivery of prototype battery packs and vehicles as per design specified parameters by conducting necessary functional checks for testing and validation activities.
7. Will be involved in identification of bugs related to build and working with relevant stakeholders to arrive at CAPA measures.
8. Providing feedback on DFA, PFMEA and serviceability aspects of the vehicle and its sub-assemblies to design and manufacturing teams.
Requirement:
1. BE/ B.Tech - Mechanical/ Electrical/ Automobile with 4+ years of relevant experience.
2. Excellent communication, problem-solving, analytical and team building skills.
3. Proficient in 3D modelling softwares - Solidworks/ CATIA/ Fusion 360.
4. Hands-on experience in ground up vehicle (ICE/ EV) and battery pack builds including harness preparation and integration testing.
5. Knowledge about prototype sourcing and costing methods of various manufacturing and finishing processes including but not limited to - CNC machining, lathe machining, 3D printing, Vacuum Casting, sheet metal operations like laser cutting and bending, painting and powder coating.
6. Should have working knowledge on automotive electrical and electronic systems (ICE/ EV).
7. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
