THE POSITION As a Senior Database Engineer, you will play a crucial role in optimizing and maintaining the performance of our database systems. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Some of your key responsibilities will be: · Refactor and build highly efficient queries operating on large datasets. · Monitor, evaluate, recommend and manage DB instances to ensure robust and optimal performance. · Provide support and guidance to development teams to resolve incidents and improve application performance. · Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation. · Ensure security, backup, RPO and RTO procedures and SLA are adhered to. EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS · Bachelor’s degree in information security, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. · 5+ experience years Elastic Search and/or Spark databases · 5+ experience relational databases, Postgres preferred · Experience in microservices architecture · Experience in SAAS products is highly regarded · Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues. · Excellent communication skills with the capacity to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders. · Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. · Adaptable and proactive mindset, anticipating and mitigating potential database challenges.
