Role Objective We are seeking an experienced Procurement Engineer with expertise in both Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and non-COTS items, specifically in electrical, electronics, and mechanical parts for the aerospace industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully sourcing and acquiring materials for aerospace applications, managing the procurement process for both standardized and specialized components. This individual will play a crucial role in supporting Skytex by ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality components for our cutting-edge products.
Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities Sourcing and Supplier Management: - Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reputable suppliers for both COTS and non-COTS electrical, electronics, and mechanical parts.
- Negotiate favorable terms and agreements with suppliers, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
- Conduct regular assessments of supplier performance, holding them to high standards of quality and reliability.
- Identify and evaluate potential new suppliers for aerospace components and materials.
- Develop and implement a strategic vendor development plan to expand and diversify the supplier base.
Material Selection - Collaborate closely with engineering and design teams to understand COTS and non-COTS component specifications and requirements for drone manufacturing.
- Research and recommend suitable components based on technical specifications, regulatory compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
Cost Analysis And Budgeting - Conduct thorough cost analysis for both COTS and non-COTS components to ensure competitive pricing.
- Develop and manage procurement budgets, collaborating with finance and project management teams to optimize costs.
- Work closely with quality assurance teams to address any issues related to the quality and reliability of components.
Supply Chain Optimization - Streamline and optimize the supply chain process for both COTS and non-COTS items, focusing on efficiency and timely delivery.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement of components.
Regulatory Compliance - Stay informed about industry regulations and standards related to COTS and non-COTS item procurement in aerospace.
- Ensure all components meet necessary regulatory requirements and certifications.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of Experience in Procurement function of mid-large-scale organizations
- Proven experience in procurement and vendor development within the aerospace industry.
- Proven experience in procurement roles with expertise in both COTS and non-COTS item procurement.
- Strong understanding of aerospace materials, components, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to conduct cost-benefit analyses.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for aerospace components.
