Job description
The Designer provides solutions to problems in the Instrument Design discipline without supervisory approval and will evaluate and select solutions from established operating procedures and/or scientific procedures .
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Diploma in Instrumentation or Electronics and Communication Engineering
- Experience using AutoCAD/Microstation preferred
- Experience using MS Office Suite including Excel and Word
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Prepare key project deliverables, including (but not limited to) the following:
- Block Diagrams
- Typical Installation Drawings
- Junction Box Schedules
- Instrument Hook-up details
- MCT Schedules
- Cable tray drawings
- Building Layouts
- MCT Layouts
- Tray support location Plans
- Cable tray sizing calculations
- Conduit & cable schedules
- Interconnection & Wiring drawings
- Prepare bills of material and perform MTO of Instrument items
Work in 3D modeling tool to perform the following:
- Model Cable trays
- Model Instrument Equipment - Junction boxes, panels, etc
- Model Instrument field devices
- Model Cable tray supports / Supports for field devices
- Model Penetrations
- Model Cable trenches
- Extract Drawings
- Extract MTO
- Clear Clashes / TDL
Support Project Development and Coordination, including (but not limited to) the following:
- Maintain and promote a focus on McDermott s end-product throughout engineering, fabrication, or construction
- Report to and coordinate with the engineering project lead and task lead, as applicable
- Effectively communicate with design lead and project designers and engineers
- Assume responsibility for deliverables/activities to which are assigned
