IIIT Hyderabad Invites Applications for the Position of Licensed Clinical Psychologist The International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad is a world-class institution offering BTech, MS by Research, Dual Degree (BTech + MS), MTech, and PhD programs. The institute has large research centers with over 100 PhD & 250 MS Research students working on wide-ranging topics. The institute IIIT-H provides a flexible environment that facilitates active industry collaborations for conducting research.

IIIT Hyderabad invites applications for a full-time Licensed Counselor / Clinical Counselor / Clinical Social Worker having the following education and competencies.

Overall Responsibility: The focus of this position is to promote well-being and address the mental health concerns of the IIIT community. The counselor will be responsible for the psychosocial functioning of the students related to life transitions, health, and medical issues, as well as relationship difficulties within the social, economic, cultural, familial, and physical environment affecting a student's performance and behavior.

Essential Competencies:

Education & Experience:

• Masters in Clinical Psychology/M.Phil. in Clinical Social Work from a premier Institute or a nationally important institute.

• An experience of 3 – 5 years working with students in an engineering or academic institute of repute as a licensed counselor / clinical counselor / clinical social worker.

Job Responsibilities:

• Identify and resolve issues related to academic challenges, adjustments to a new environment, or behavioral issues including issues related to drinking, relationships, or violence.

• Assist students in addressing individual and social problems to bring about social change. • Serves as a liaison between the Institute and the students' families.

• Provide clinical support -

▪ Conduct monthly group therapy sessions and need-based one-to-one sessions.

▪ Connect with students from marginalized communities, including, women and transgender students, under the gender diversity program.

▪ Collaborate and work with the psychiatrist / clinical psychologist/ medical consultant to support the individual in need.

▪ Participate in policy development regarding mental health services on campus.

• In case of emergency, availability, and accessibility beyond 8 hours (non-negotiable other than scheduled leave). Awareness of crisis/emergency management.

Work Environment:

• Work for 6 days a week and 8 hours every day. (The Institute remains open and functional for 24 hours a day and 7 days a week)

• Campus accommodation may be provided depending on availability on request.

Type of Role: Regular position with an initial contract of 3 years. Renewal will be based on performance and the Institute's needs. The performance will be evaluated every academic year.

Pay: The compensation is designed to reward the best talent and will not be a limiting factor for the right person. It will range from Rs. 40,000-60,000 per month, based on experience.
