Job description
Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Head Fashion Designer in Darzi On Call™ Pvt Ltd located in New Delhi. The Head Designer will be responsible for leading and guiding the design team, creating and developing innovative designs for clothing and accessories, coordinating with the production team for the efficient execution of designs, and managing workflow priorities.
Responsibilities - Lead and manage the design team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. - Develop seasonal design concepts that align with brand identity and resonate with target audiences. - Oversee the end-to-end design process, from initial concept to final product, ensuring quality and consistency. - Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Creative Directors, Merchandisers, and Production Managers. - Conduct in-depth trend research and analysis to inform design decisions and stay ahead of industry developments. - Create sketches, technical drawings, and prototypes to communicate design concepts effectively. - Review and provide feedback on junior designers' work, guiding their growth and skill development. - Present design concepts to internal stakeholders, executives, and clients with confidence and clarity. - Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to source high-quality materials and ensure production feasibility. - Stay updated with emerging fashion trends, innovations, and sustainable practices. - Participate in fittings and provide expert guidance on garment construction and fit. - Manage design timelines, budgets, and resources to meet project goals and deadlines. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field; Master's degree is a plus. - Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in fashion design, experience, e.g., high-fashion, luxury, ready-to-wear - Proven leadership experience, with the ability to lead, inspire, and mentor a team. - Strong proficiency in design software (Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) and other relevant tools. - In-depth knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, and technical specifications. - Excellent understanding of fabrics, textiles, and materials, with an eye for quality and detail. - Exceptional creativity and innovation, with the ability to translate concepts into tangible designs. - Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment. - Portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design work, including sketches, technical drawings, and finished products.
