Job description

Scope and General Purpose of Job:

The Sales Manager (MICE) must embody characteristics of a visionary, leader, motivator, and aggressive salesperson. Additionally, they are responsible for compiling data and resources, planning, and executing strategies.

Represent the Golf Club in its interactions with various external stakeholders.

Develop the Golf Club's membership roster, ensuring the achievement of all sales targets individually and as a team. Ensure that prospect bank, closing ratios, and sales and marketing plans are robust enough to continually exceed membership sales targets and recover capital costs related to the project.

Manage the Sales & Marketing department, ensuring adherence to administration systems and fostering teamwork to promote ancillary club revenues. Maintain the attractiveness of the product to prospects and members.

Responsible for: Senior Sales Manager, Sales Manager, Sales Coordinator & Sales Associates.

Job Tasks (Duties):

Continuously prospect and develop new business through various channels such as phone solicitation, outside sales calls, customer visits, trade shows, sales blitzes, direct mail, and research.

Drive and manage group production by enhancing customer loyalty through excellent account management. Determine the needs of accounts, hotel objectives, and marketing activities for each assigned market/account.

Negotiate transient and group rates for assigned accounts.

Effectively communicate the benefits of the Hotel to clients and possess comprehensive product knowledge.

Understand and be familiar with the fundamentals of assigned accounts.

Identify new or existing markets/accounts aligning with property sales strategy.

Be accountable for all targets and goals set for the area of responsibilities.

Develop marketing intelligence, generate new product ideas, monitor competition activities, identify new customer trends, and analyze performance.

Collaborate with property General Managers to devise and implement a sales plan with strategies to achieve budgets and sales targets.

Actively source new business through strategic sales calls.

Develop and maintain positive relationships with new and existing clients.

Create marketing collateral and campaigns to promote venues, packages, and specials.

Conduct research and reporting on competitor analysis and market trends.

Perform administrative duties including compiling proposals and contracts, maintaining a database, generating regular sales reports, and end-of-month reporting.

Manage all aspects of event coordination, acting as the point of liaison for clients, creating event orders, invoicing, and ensuring effective communication of event details to clients and internal departments.
