Job description
Key Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day operations of our cloud environment (which is 24x5 at present), includingprovisioning, monitoring, scaling, and troubleshooting of cloud resources across our cloud platform(AWS).
Develop and implement cloud operations policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistentand efficient operations.
Manage and resolve incidents related to cloud infrastructure, guiding the team in troubleshootingand resolving incidents related to performance availability, and security.
Ensure the security of our cloud environment by implementing and maintaining security bestpractices, monitoring for security threats, and managing access controls by working closely with theSecurity Operations team.
Monitor and optimize cloud resource utilization to ensure cost-efficient operations.
Lead a team of skilled cloud engineers, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to design, implement, and maintainscalable, secure, and high-performance cloud infrastructure.
Develop and maintain documentation related to cloud operations processes, procedures, andstandards.
Generate regular reports on cloud operations performance and present to senior leadership.
Requirements
Strong proficiency in cloud platform, especially AWS..
Deep understanding of cloud computing concepts, including virtualization, networking, storage, andsecurity.
Deep understanding of web environment, content management systems (Drupal, Sitecore, etc.), andweb casting.
Experience with cloud automation tools.
Understanding of cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM).
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platformslike Kubernetes.
Knowledge of cloud networking concepts such as virtual private clouds (VPCs), subnets, loadbalancers, and firewalls.
Understanding of cloud cost management strategies.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD),and version control (Git).
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues related to cloudoperations and performance.
Strong communication skills.
Strong team working and cross functional team collaboration skills.
Decision-making, Conflict resolution and Prioritization skills.
