Job description
Designation: NMS Engineer Experience: 5+ years Skillset: OSS integration, Restful APIs, DWDM, OTN, UNIX, NMS installation & upgrades,
Responsibilities: 1. Continuously Monitor IT Infrastructure, work on alerts and resolve. Escalate the issues to the next level if required. 2. Ensure that any technical issues on a service ticket are escalated efficiently and resolved as quickly as possible. 3. Good knowledge of vendors NMS applications like CIENA (One Control, MCP), ECI (LIGHTSOFT), NOKIA HUAWEI, ZTE, TEJAS, CISCO 4.Working on NBI tool of Huawei, Ciena, ECI, Tejas, Cisco, Nokia. (Alarms and events flow from NMS to Netcool) 5. Monitored and analyzed server performance, such as disk utilization, Memory utilization, VAR partition, Home partition 6. Working on NMS and OSS components like Fault Management, Configuration Management, Performance Management, Security Management, Provisioning and Administration. 7. Troubleshooting of all NMS and EMS-related issues. 8. Handling the scheduled jobs such as EMS/NMS’s Backup and Performing Daily Health Check of EMS /NMS. 9. Maintenance of NMS Server, Switchover the services from the Main server to the Standby server and vice-versa. 10. Analysis, implementation, testing, and documentation of Incidents and change requests, handling other day-to-day activities, such as login issues, and performing Changes, working on incidents and tasks raised by different teams, troubleshooting OS issues such as high CPU utilization, Process handling, etc. 11. Communicated effectively with Partners to resolve the user's requirement and technical specifications for available software and services. 12. Application migration, monitoring, user addition and deletion. 13. Monitoring and managing Linux Processes. 14 Backups Administration (NMS and NE backups) 15. Application services switchover Main to DR and manage availability. 16. Prepare weekly reports, monthly reports of alerts/tickets worked on and calculate SLA and review performance 17.Troubleshooting for service impact in EMS & NMS monitoring & provide 24x7 support to customer. 18.
