Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our culinary team. The Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, quality control, and staff management. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional culinary skills, a creative flair, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Responsibilities - Develop and execute creative menus that align with our restaurant's concept and target market
- Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities, ensuring high-quality standards are consistently met
- Oversee the creation and implementation of standardized recipes and cooking techniques
- Monitor food costs, inventory levels, and ordering to maintain budgetary guidelines
- Collaborate with vendors to source high-quality ingredients and negotiate pricing
- Conduct regular inspections of the kitchen area to ensure cleanliness and adherence to sanitation standards
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their culinary skills and performance
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques and ingredients into menu offerings
- Handle customer feedback and resolve any issues related to food quality or service promptly and professionally
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
Qualifications - Proven experience as an Executive Chef or in a similar senior culinary role
- Extensive culinary knowledge and proficiency in a wide range of cooking techniques and cuisines
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, capable of handling multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Creative mindset with a passion for innovation in menu development and presentation
- Strong understanding of food cost control and the ability to manage budgets
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Degree or certification in culinary arts is preferred, but not mandatory
- Current food handler's certification and knowledge of food safety regulations
