KPMG Resource Centre (KRC) is a team of 3,000+ colleagues serving audit clients of primarily KPMG Europe and a few other countries. KRC's services include end-to-end Audits, IT Audits, Data Analytics, Engagement Support Hub, Transaction

Assurance and ESG, among others. The business supports multiple sectors and is currently present in Bengaluru, Gurugram, Noida and Mumbai.

Roles & responsibilities

You will have the opportunity to develop KDN's ESG Assurance new team including:

  • Training the KDN team on ESG concepts like ESG reporting frameworks e.g., GRI,TCFD,SASB etc, Carbon Accounting (GHG Protocol), Social standards, Environmental, Health and Safety standards, regulatory landscape of CSRD, EU Taxonomy, SFDR and similar.
  • Work with the KDN team and it's member firm network to deliver ESG assurance on specific clients, working to agreed timetables, developing the scope of work and deliverables, drafting and working through work programmes, reviewing the testing and carrying out assurance work, reporting and project management
  • Ensuring delivery of engagements in line with assurance standards ISAE 3000 and ISAE 3410 or equivalent
  • Oversee the preparation of the documentation on the assurance file in line with KPMG's quality standards and our internal KPMG Assurance Manual
  • Support in developing and improving the standardised Assurance work programmes
  • Identifying, researching and helping to resolve complex sustainability/ ESG assurance issues
  • Lead and coach a team working on ESG Assurance projects
  • Managing ESG Assurance projects in individual capacity with frequent collaboration with onshore stakeholders and global experts.
  • Maintaining the data confidentiality and adherence to the risk management policy by the team members.
  • Review of the team's work and to provide timely feedback to team members to enable them to improve their performance.
  • Building relationships with (senior) stakeholders
  • Regular tracking of KPIs and reporting to senior management

Qualifications

Educational qualifications

  • MBAs, CAs, Economist or Engineers with work experience in Environmental sciences, Energy studies, Climate change or related fields (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Relevant certifications or working knowledge of key frameworks such as GRI, CDP, TCFD, GRESB, SASB, SBTI, DJSI, SDGs, CSRD, GARP SCR, CFA -ESG etc

Work Experience

  • 5+ year experience in either financial statement audit or ESG assurance.

Mandatory technical & functional skills

  • Candidate with 5+ years of experience in delivering sustainability/ climate assurance engagements for large audited entities under ISAE 3000 and ISAE 3410 with a Big 4 or equivalent firm
  • Candidate may also be an experienced financial auditor with 5+ years experience looking to transition into ESG Assurance.
  • Ability to make quick, sound decisions and work in an agile way
  • Strong executive communication skills (written and verbal) and a collaborative mindset
  • Ability to work with geographically diverse teams, work through obstacles, complexity, and uncertainty to reach our collective goals
  • Strong project management skills including the ability to manage multiple deliverables with conflicting deadlines

Preferred Technical & Functional Skills

  • Experience leading, executing, and deploying projects with multiple workstreams
  • Experience leveraging other technologies in the delivery of financial audits
  • As firm policy permits, willingness to travel domestically or internationally (up to 25%)
  • Foundational knowledge of the overall ESG industry and regulatory environment and demonstrates the ability to conduct research to gain further knowledge of ESG technical topics
