Primary Responsibilities:
- Works with team to envision the concept story, project narrative and graphics for concept presentation.
- Engage with team in programming, strategy, space planning and furniture layouts. Knowledge of local codes and strong test fit planning skills required.
- Designs and/or directs junior staff in the design and documentation of the interior workplace design including reception areas, common spaces, work areas, collaboration zones, and support spaces. Develops design presentation including rendered plans, elevations, and 3D views.
- Works with architectural team to envision the concept story and main goal of the client while assisting in design, graphics, documentation and coordination of interior elements, and other consultants.
- Prepare schedules relative to the interior design including finishes, lighting, door hardware, miscellaneous accessories, and plumbing fixtures.
- Assist in fielding calls and emails from team members including clients, consultants, vendors and/or general contractors.
- Identifies issues which require the review and input of Senior Designer and/or Project Manager and communicates such in a timely manner.
- Reviews and has experience in coordinating shop drawings and samples (both FF&E related, and contractor related) with final approval by Senior Interior Designer and/or Project Manager
- Coordination with client, contractor, and project team as appropriate per project
- Has experience attending site meetings with owners, consultants, and contractor.
- Ability to prepare presentations at various stages of the project as required with direction from Senior Designer.
- Responsible for internal presentation of project design materials to Principal in Charge.
- Familiarity with Workplace strategy, discovery, and comprehensive analysis of program requirements.
- Familiar with the process of data gathering and analysis for creating a program summary.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a 3 or 4 year Interior Design program.
- Minimum of 4 to 6 years of related industry experience required.
- Self-starter, passionate about design.
- Possesses interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Possesses knowledge of building codes.
- Understanding of interior construction documents including floor plans, floor finish plans, elevations and details, finish schedules, furniture plans
- Ability to develop, communicate and present design concepts to their team.
- Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
- MUST be highly proficient in Revit.
- Strong proficiency in computer-assisted design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Complete Adobe Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, In-design or alternate; Rhino; MS Office; 3D software such as Sketchup, Enscape.
- Strong communication, organization, time management skills and excellent graphic abilities to use multiple technologies to convey the design and concept.
