is seeking a candidate for the role of Senior Observability Engineer to join MMC Tech team in India. Marsh McLennan is seeking a Senior Observability Engineer. As a Senior Observability Engineer, you will work with technology stakeholders to support and deliver mission-critical monitoring, event management and log aggregation services. You will oversee these tools within the IT organization while ensuring we have the necessary visibility into our backend infrastructure up through the business applications to identify hotspots before they impact our valuable customers. When issues do occur, you will timely identify the source of the issue to reduce mean-time-to-restore services and define and implement strategies for auto recovery of services. We will count on you to: Support and optimize the configuration and maintenance of enterprise monitoring and observability toolsets (Datadog, BigPanda, Splunk, LogicMonitor and others). Assist with the definition of, and implementation, of various integrations to support consolidated alerting across various technology domains supporting full stack visibility to state. Regularly work with colleagues across the enterprise to provide insights as to how to review and leverage monitoring and performance data via the use of capabilities such as Dashboards, Reports, and other mechanisms. Identify and assist with implementation of automation opportunities to support capabilities such as simplified administration and self-service, issue remediation, and automated deployment of capabilities. Consistently utilize ITIL processes (Event and Availability Management, Service Level Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Configuration Management). Actively participate in agile work planning and other team collaboration activities. Support a strong customer focus and management of customer expectations; ability to establish and maintain a high level of user trust and understanding of related business objectives. Utilizes strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with multiple teams to solve problems. What you need to have: 5 or more years Information Technology (IT) experience, preferably in a mid- to large-sized global organization 2+ Year experience with System and Application Monitoring, Application Performance Monitoring (APM), , Synthetics, and Real User Monitoring, utilizing tools such as Datadog, Splunk, LogicMonitor, BigPanda or comparable tools such as Dynatrace, New Relic, Elastic etc. Experience with the development and enhancement of scripts developed using technologies such as Python and Powershell. Experience utilizing ServiceNow Incident, Configuration, Problem, and Change modules to manage assigned work activities and related updates. Experience utilizing tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps in an agile work model. Ability to work independently while providing comprehensive and timely updates to peers and other stakeholders as needed.
