Who We Are Looking For And Why

We are looking for a Banking Operations Analyst to assist the Banking Operations Manager in day-to-day payments, settlements, and reconciliation work.

This role will be positioned within the Banking and Treasury Ops function and will be reporting to the Banking Operations Manager.

The Banking and Treasury Ops function plays a critical role in managing and overseeing financial transactions and we believe the following qualities are important for someone in this position:

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret financial data, understand our product performance and present the data in a well informed and understandable manner
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in handling numbers and financial data, ensuring accuracy in all transactions and reports.
  • Risk Management Acumen: Understanding of how to identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Capable of identifying issues and developing effective solutions
  • Organisational Skills: Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities, often under tight deadlines
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Awareness of relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements in the banking and finance sector
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with others, including finance teams, external partners, and cross-functional groups
  • Adaptability: Comfortable with change and able to adjust strategies and approaches in a dynamic financial environment

Requirements

What a 'Treasury and Payment Analyst' means to us

Someone who is numeric minded, involved in daily settlement and reconciliation of all client bank account statements, monitoring incoming and outgoing payments and card activities with all banks and financial institutions as well as investigation of breaks on accounts.

The Company depends on the Banking and Treasury Ops function to oversee the reconciliation of all client funded accounts. This includes review of reconciliations, research and the recovery of outages, account monitoring, and continual process improvement.

How You Can Help Us

There are certain functions and capabilities we believe are essential to the role:

  • Processing payments, both inbound and outbound and managing the direct debit;
  • Monitoring of partner bank statements processing payments and bank deposits on a daily basis accurately and timely;
  • Reconciliation of all ETF Portfolios, Precious Metals and Card Transactions and investigate exceptions;
  • Daily capture of all payments, pre-advices and internal transfers on all banking systems;
  • Identifying account reconciliation issues and finding short/long term solutions;
  • Identifying and reporting potential money laundering, ensuring payment requests do not exceed regulatory limits without KYC;
  • Log all non-reconciling items to ensure they are communicated to the relevant department for investigation;
  • Working with other areas to improve processes with the view of reducing reconciliation breaks to improve quality and efficiency of reconciliation;
  • Working closely with Finance, Customer Support and within Operations in delivering a better experience for Hugosave customers;
  • Propagating our purpose, mission, vision and values.

What We Consider Relevant Qualifications, Experience And Knowledge

Skills and capabilities we believe are highly relevant include:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Especially in Excel)
  • 1-3 years of proven experience in a payments and card reconciliation;
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area;
  • Experience within the financial services or fintech;
  • Potential experience with Card networks on issuing side;
  • Advanced Excel skills to manipulate large volumes of data;
  • Strong knowledge of South East Asian markets (particularly Singapore);
  • Passionate about joining an early stage Fintech;
  • Ability to identify, build and enhance key relationships, influence and challenge as required;
  • Have the resilience to drive change through and be a supportive business partner to the operation;
  • Fluent English speaker and writer.
  • Understanding basic SQL query and programming is a plus

  • Familiarise yourself with our operations processes throughout our product offering
  • Understand the money flow of each of our product offerings
  • Understanding and familiariing with the systems that we use
  • Familiarise yourself with the reconciliation requirements

Found your feet (90 Days):

  • Be able to perform all reconciliation tasks required
  • Be able to map out the flows for any new reconciliation tasks

Well into your stride (180 Days)

  • Be able to work independently on the reconciliation tasks without assistance
  • Be able to review, optimise or suggest recommendations for improvements to the current reconciliation process
