POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for software developer to join our User Experience team. This is a full-time, permanent position. The UX team is responsible for the graphical interface and data visualization for all of CMG’s applications. With their work, the team is unlocking the potential of CMG’s technology to their customers to improve the overall productivity of engineering workflows in oil and gas. This allows oil companies to better understand and develop petroleum resources with a unified approach. Our applications are crossplatform thus candidates who work equally well on both Windows and Linux operating systems are preferred. As some of CMG’s user interfaces are implemented in C++ and others are implemented in C#, knowledge of both languages and possibly their associated user interface toolkits is a bonus.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
The successful candidate will work as part of the UX team, under the direction of a User Interface Developer Lead, with other UX developers as well as domain experts to develop new functionality and support existing functionality using C++ or C# and other technologies. User Interface developers follow established team software development procedures for design, coding, testing and other activities. Developers are expected to develop mock-ups of new user experience elements, with review meetings prior to implementation. As part of their work, developers should be comfortable with writing automated tests for their own code. EXPERIENCE:
3+ years of experience in software development is a must. Experience in developing User Interfaces on Windows is required. Programming experience with C# and/or C++ Experience with Data visualization (2D and/ or 3D) is highly desired. Experience with development on Linux is desired. Experience in commercial Oil & Gas industry engineering software is desired but not a must
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL:
Experience in the development of functional, effective and aesthetically attractive User Interfaces, using C++ or C# and WPF. A strong knowledge of .NET framework, with experience in data binding, reflection, XML, and related technologies. Experience with Agile development methodologies. Familiarity with development techniques such as Test-Driven Development. Team focused with a positive attitude, must be self-motivated, and have very good time management and communication skills both in written and verbal English
