Job description
In this role you will be expected to operationally and technically supervise the day-to-day Mechanical Laboratory to achieve the primary objectives of safety, quality, and service delivery. Will be responsible for Operations, Technical excellence, Safety and Client Management within the area of control
Responsibilities Planning, supervising, and controlling all activities related to mechanical and metallurgical testing. Perform Room Temperature Tensile, Elevated Temperature Tensile, Hardness (Rockwell & Brinell) Izod/ Charpy Impact using internal procedures and published industry methods Maintain qualifications to perform these tests and use calibrated hand tools such as micrometer, caliper, compass, and ruler to take measurements and record them into the test records Ensure that all equipment (standards) used for performing tests are calibrated prior to use Manage audits and third party witnesses for testing and calibration activities Overall responsibility for timely sample turnaround and customer satisfaction Skills / Qualifications Degree/Diploma in Mechanical / Metallurgy / Materials Science with relevant experience in third party testing laboratory for a minimum of 5 years LIMS use experience Strong background with mechanical testing and evaluation, and strong and determined quality focus Familiar with all methods of mechanical lab analytical and method testing for tensile, hardness, impact, bending Experienced to deal with NABL auditsJob tags
