Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role located in Chennai for a Junior Merchandiser. The Junior Merchandiser will be responsible for coordinating between the production team and clients to ensure timely delivery of orders and specifications. Additionally, the Junior Merchandiser would be responsible for managing stock levels and liaising with the sales team to optimize sales.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Experience in sales, retail and marketing or a related field
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Relevant degree in Fashion, Apparel or Business Management is a plus
- Fluency in local languages such as Tamil is a definite advantage
Job Responsibilities:
- Order Coordination:
- Work closely with the design and production teams to understand customer requirements and expectations.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate execution of orders.
- Client Communication:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the order lifecycle.
- Address client inquiries and concerns promptly, maintaining excellent client relations.
- Sample Development:
- Oversee the sample development process, ensuring samples meet client specifications and quality standards.
- Coordinate sample approvals with clients and make necessary revisions as needed.
- Costing and Pricing:
- Prepare and analyze cost sheets for each order, considering materials, labor, and overhead costs.
- Collaborate with the finance team to determine competitive pricing strategies.
- Production Planning:
- Work closely with production teams to create and maintain production schedules.
- Monitor production progress and address any delays or issues proactively.
- Quality Control:
- Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure finished products meet agreed-upon standards.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks at various stages of production.
- Logistics and Shipment:
- Coordinate with logistics and shipping partners to ensure on-time delivery of finished goods.
- Handle documentation and customs clearance processes for export shipments.
- Market Research:
- Stay informed about industry trends, market demands, and competitor activities.
- Provide insights and recommendations to enhance product offerings and market positioning.
Eligibility :
- Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Leather Garment Merchandiser in the fashion or textile industry.
- Strong knowledge of leather production processes and materials.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under tight deadlines.
- Understanding of international trade regulations and logistics.
