The Molten Metal Systems business of Morgan Advanced Materials manufactures an extensive range of high-performance crucibles and foundry consumables for non-ferrous metal melting applications We provide melting solutions for foundries, die-casters and melting facilities working with zinc, precious metals, aluminium, copper, brass, bronze and other non-ferrous metals.

Key Figures: Revenue £1,112m (2022), 8,500 employees, manufacturing in 30+ countries, and a global customer portfolio. A UK PLC with head office located in Windsor, Berkshire UK. Listed on London Stock Exchange; Member of the FTSE 250 Index.

Responsibilities

Job Purpose

The purpose of this position is overall development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's Quality Standards, so that site can deliver high level & consistent Quality product that meets customer expectation. This involves putting in place a system to measure organizations performance and then report on it's findings, liasoning with managers and staff, and coordinating procedures to address any deficiencies.

Summary

Manager - Quality is responsible for delivering quality products that meets standards of the company and Customer expectations. Principal areas of accountability include achieving reduction in internal process rejects & rework, continually improve processes, report gaps through various audits, ensuring counter actions against gap findings, continually improve performance and reliability of the product, reducing customer complaints and thereby improving customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Reduction of rejects, rework, and Customer complaints
  • Continual improvement of Product Quality and their performance through various initiatives
  • Manage the monitoring, measurement, review and establish internal processes Standards so that each product line delivers consistent product.
  • Ensure that the organization's Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Fix the team KPIs and KRAs to achieve the Plant Objective.
  • Report to top management on the performance of the Quality Systems (results of quality audits, corrective actions), including the need for improvement.
  • Review and suggest countermeasures against Customer complaints related to manufacturing.
  • Evaluating all types of new products and provide feedback to Development, so that best product is delivered customer with zero defects.
  • Reviewing and ensuring the performance of quality team for delivering best product.
  • Responsible for accuracy and timely inspection/calibration of monitoring and measuring devices.
  • Customer centric approach.
  • Keep up on standards, regulations/laws, issues, and news with respect to product (service) quality.
  • Lead team effectively to achieve planned results and Objectives.

  • Reduction in Cost of poor quality (internal) including machined components
  • Reduction in Cost of poor quality External
  • Vendor assessment for A & B class items
  • ISO 10002 certification (for customer complaint management)

Qualifications

Should have a Masters Degree in Ceramic Engineering/Metallurgy with minimum 12-15 years of experience

Should be a Certified Lead Auditor in QMS – ISO 9001

Should have Min of 6-8 years' experience in ceramic industry

Six Sigma Black belt with good analytical skills will be a added advantage

Should have good Leadership Qualities
