Primarily, managing roadmap aligned sprint and release content and delivery, this role is proactive in product planning and design to ensure differentiated value. The Director is also very closely involved with the product throughout all stages of the life cycle (conception, definition, development, release, and post release activities) and drives product strategy, product planning and marketing execution as a key member of the Global Product Management team.
This Director of Product Management role leads a team of product owners and product managers to deliver value to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Product Owners and Product Managers
- Help define and then execute on Energy Exemplar's vision of Empowering Transformative Energy Decisions
- Take on the role of SCRUM Product Manager, guiding Engineering teams in building and releasing new capabilities and features
- Work closely with Product Team(s): Product Managers, Technical Leads, Architects, UX Designers and Development staff to design and build outstanding products that our customers love
- Work with other Product Managers, Product Marketing, Sales and Customer Success teams to respond to customer situations and assess enhancement requests and requirements against business needs and long-term priorities
- Maintain close relationships with stakeholders for awareness of customers' needs and perspectives
- Determine product objectives and release plans involving internal/external customers
- Take part in developing product plans, release schedules, and integrated solutions for Energy Exemplar software products
- Monitor adoption of released features and determine their impact. When adoption is not meeting targets, take action.
- Be involved in designing demos, help with training courses and other related issues
- Contribute to strategy and process discussions
- Provide work assistance to other team members
Experience and Essential Skills:
- Experience managing a team of Product Owners or Product Managers
- Knowledge/experience as a SCRUM Product Manager or similar Agile Product/Project Management role
- Experience in Energy domain is a plus
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Willingness to learn and expand domain knowledge
- Able to operate without supervision, identify opportunities, act on initiative
- Strong organizational skills with ability to handle various tasks; attention to detail
- Strong oral and written communication skills,
- Must be able to work well with others as part of a team
- Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps, JIRA, PowerPoint, Excel etc.
Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you'll need a customer-first attitude and the following:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in business or engineering related discipline
- Overall 12+ years of which 5+ years in Product Owner, Business Analysis or Agile Product management related roles
- Management experience of a Product Management or Project Management team
- Experience in Energy Domain is an added advantage
- Willingness to work across time zones with global teams
- Education/Licensing/Certification: Certified Scrum Product Owner / CSPO, Professional Product Owner / PSPO is an advantage
