Job Description for the Position of R&D Head

Work Experience: - +12 years
Location: - Mumbai (Palghar)
Qualification: - Ph. D in Organic Chemistry / M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry
Employment Type: - Permanent, Full Time
Job Responsibilities: 1. Setting the blue print of the long-term R&D and build on existing infrastructure. Essentially co-creating the R&D of the future. 2. Manage the day to day operations of R&D. Providing guidance, encouraging a lean team work and facilitating related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards. 3. Development of new products/formulations on time with right quality as per customer requirement. 4. Development of test methods as proxy to applications at the customer end. 5. Cost reduction in existing products by formula optimization and hunting new and cheaper RMs to replace existing ones, while not compromising on quality. 6. To organize and conduct line trials of new products on line and ensure the successful implementation. 7. To provide technical support to sales by advising corrective actions for line issues, for conducting new product line trials, for new product commercialization. 8. Maintain relationship with customers, understand their needs and create pipeline projects for customer based on marketing inputs. 9. To identify new applications, new opportunities and customer pain areas and value selling. 10. To monitor various projects progress, identify new project opportunities and share regular update with business head. 11. Technical support to Production & QA dept for critical batches through Root cause analysis. And scale up. 12. To develop procedures for safe and efficient working as per requirements. 13. Responsible for planning of manpower requirements and responsible for 5S system in lab 14. Added exposure in the following will help :- i) Greases with chemistry like lithium, lithium complex, calcium sulphonate, poly urea ii) Gear oils iii) Forging lubricants iv) Metal working fluids v) Punching & Stamping Fluids
Key Skills: Good understanding of use of additives for formulation developments Must be a good Team Player Leadership skills Excellent communication and organizational skills Good analytical skills Hands on in formulations and developing products
