About The Job
We are looking for an experienced WordPress developer to support development, maintenance and management of Vendasta WordPress platform and other digital projects as assigned. The successful candidate would be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and updating plugins. You will be responsible for managing all SEO activities such as content strategy, link building and keyword strategy to increase rankings on all major search networks. You will also manage all SEM campaigns on Google and Bing in order to maximize ROI.
Your Impact
- Support websites within the WordPress platform quickly, following company standards and protocols
- Develop site layout and graphics by coordinating with other teams and working within a pre-established design.
- Design images, icons, banners, audio enhancements, etc.
- Update existing websites in both HTML and WordPress
- Setup and maintain e-commerce websites
- Execute tests, collect and analyze data and results, identify trends and insights in order
to achieve maximum ROI in paid search campaigns
- Monitor daily performance metrics to understand SEO strategy performance
- Optimize copy and landing pages for search engine marketing
- Perform ongoing keyword discovery, expansion and optimization
- Research and implement search engine optimization recommendations
- Work with the development team to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented on newly developed code
- Work with editorial and marketing teams to drive SEO in content creation and content programming
- Recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords.
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (considered an asset), or equivalent experience
- 2+ experience of building WordPress CMS websites using the best practice & de¬facto standard plugins, Javascript and performance best practices
- 2+ years of experience in successfully developing and executing SEO campaigns
- Knowledge of existing inbuilt WordPress functions, customizing WordPress to support
specific functionality, creation of custom post types, Theme/template integration.
- Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
- Understanding of search engine algorithms and ranking methods
- In-depth experience with website analytics tools (e.g, Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends)
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Customer service experience and focus
