We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to be based at our Bangalore office to work in conjunction with our Finance department.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of accounts payable specialists, providing clear direction, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Oversee the entire accounts payable process, from invoice receipt to payment execution.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to ensure accuracy, data integrity, and compliance with accounting and financial regulations.
- Analyze vendor invoices for accuracy and completeness, resolving any discrepancies before processing.
- Manage vendor relationships, proactively communicating with vendors regarding invoices, payments, and any other concerns.
- Automate accounts payable processes wherever possible using relevant software and technologies.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency and optimize workflows.
- Prepare and present reports on accounts payable activity, including aging reports, payment terms analysis, and budget variances.
- Partner with other departments like Purchasing, Accounting, and IT to ensure smooth integration and information flow.
- Manage the monthly and annual account closing process for accounts payable.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant accounting and financial regulations and implement them within the accounts payable function.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounts payable management, preferably within a multinational company.
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles. IFRS would be added advantage.
- Proven experience in leading and motivating teams, providing guidance, and resolving conflicts.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and relevant accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with team members and vendors.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrable knowledge of vendor management and invoice reconciliation.
