Job description

This is a remote position.

4 to 5+ years of experience in MS-SQL server database administration.

· Understand the lifecycle of infrastructure project (Design, Implement, Transition and Operation) In-depth understanding of SQL architecture and troubleshooting experience with the ability to analyse technical problems to prevent future occurrence.

· Extensive experience in Installation and configuration of SQL server 2008/12/14/16/17/19 

· Configured Active/Active and Active/Passive clustering for failover. 

· Performed Capacity Planning, data modelling and Logical/Physical database Design. 

· Experience in Database Backup, Recovery and High Availability (Clustering, Log Shipping, Replication and Mirroring). 

· Configured and maintained Transactional and Snapshot replication. 

· Experience in setting up Database Mirroring with witness Server in SQL server (Manual / Automatic Fail-Over). 

· Hands on experience in Migration of SQL Server (side by side and in place). 

· Hands on experience in Migration to cloud database.

· Involved in migration of DTS Packages and troubleshoot migration issues 

· Extensively worked on Integration (SSIS) and Reporting Services (SSRS), Analysis Services (SSAS), Business Intelligence and good experience in data migration from 

Oracle/MS-Access/MS-Excel Sheets/MYSQL to SQL Server 2008/2005. 

· Creating and Maintaining Trace Audits for Security events and generating Reports to analyse the Events. 

· Administering the MS SQL Server Security by creating user logins with appropriate roles, dropping, and locking the logins, monitoring the user accounts creation of groups, granting the privileges to users and groups. 

· Expertise in Performance tuning, Optimization, Data integrity and Statistics by using SQL Profiler, PerfMon and DB Engine Tuning Advisor. 

· Experience in solving Database issues with Index fragmentation, DBCC checks, Optimization of Query, Data Integrity, Index tuning, Update Statistics, Error and Event Handling. 

· Experienced in writing T-SQL (DDL, DML, and DCL). Expert in implementing business logic in backend. Reviewing T-SQL code, maintaining coding standards in all SQL 

Server environments. 

· Experienced in programming tasks Stored Procedures, Triggers and Cursors using SQL Server with T-SQL. 

· Extensively used tools like SQL Profiler, Index Tuning Wizard, and Windows Performance Monitor for monitoring and tuning MS SQL Server performance.

· Backup and Restore Strategies.

· In-depth knowledge on Windows Server Clustering

· Experienced with deployments, Maintenance and troubleshooting applications on Microsoft Cloud infrastructure Azure

· Designed and built cloud service models including Infrastructure-as-a-Service, Platform-as-a-Service, and Software-as-a-Service.

· Implemented high availability with Azure Classic and Azure Resource Manager deployment models.

· Experience troubleshooting and automated backups on Azure Service vault.

· Monitoring and managing of problem tickets. Ensure closure within the SLA defined

· Implementation of best practices

· Review of KEDB and SOP

· Handling of Problems related to historic incidents

· Formulate service improvement plans. (SIP)

· Responsible to verify availability of any latest SQL Server.
