Job Title: Technical Trainer - Digital Forensics and Information Security
Department: Forensic Science
Program: MSc Digital Forensics and Information Security
Subjects: Fundamentals of Information Security (HC 6)
Position Overview: We are seeking experienced and knowledgeable faculty members to join our esteemed institution for the subjects of 'Fundamentals of Information Security' for the MSc Digital Forensics and Information Security program. The selected candidates will play a crucial role in imparting theoretical and practical knowledge to students in the rapidly evolving field of information security.
Responsibilities:
- Module Delivery: Conduct engaging and informative lectures for the specified modules, covering topics such as Information Security Governance, Risk & Compliance, Vulnerability Analysis, Incident Response, Security Policies, and Network Security Controls.
- Practical Sessions: Facilitate hands-on practical sessions in alignment with the prescribed syllabus, guiding students through network commands, reconnaissance, vulnerability scanning, network traffic analysis, system artifacts analysis, log analysis, firewall configuration, and the use of security tools like Hashcat, JTR, Crunch, OWASP, and BLOCK.
- Evaluation and Feedback: Develop and administer assessments to evaluate students' understanding and application of concepts. Provide constructive feedback and guidance to help students improve their skills.
- Certificates and Documentation: While certificates are not mandatory, maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and any additional documentation as required.
- Timely Reporting: Collaborate with the department to provide timely updates on progress, challenges, and any necessary adjustments to the curriculum.
Qualifications:
- A postgraduate degree in a relevant field (Digital Forensics, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline).
- Demonstrated expertise in Information Security with a focus on the specified modules.
- Previous teaching experience at the postgraduate level will be advantageous.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Proficiency in network commands in Windows and Linux.
- Familiarity with tools like Maltago, Open-VAS, Ettercap, SPLUNK, and Smoothwall Firewall.
- Hands-on experience with cracking tools (Hashcat, JTR, Crunch), OWASP, and spyware analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of security policies, network controls, and frameworks like NIST Cybersecurity Framework and OWASP Top 10.
Work Location: NAAC A++ University, JC Road, Bangalore
Tenure: 1 Semester (Max 2 to 3 months)
Training Hours: 2-3 hours per day
Start Date: As soon as possible
Remuneration: Rs. 500 to Rs. 1000 per hour
