Job description
Overall expectations from the profile: The position exists to lead the purchasing, sourcing, subcontracting and in-house machine shop teams to effectively develop, implement and monitor sourcing strategies to meet manufacturing demand within cost targets.
Job Description: 1. Strategic Purchase: Take overall responsibility for the strategic sourcing role of the company and implement action items to ensure that those goals are achieved. Establish a sourcing roadmap for major direct and indirect spend categories. Constantly scope, identify and qualify new competitive and competent suppliers in the market analyzing market prices and trends in raw material and logistics costs. 2. Vendor Management: For manufactured components- to identify, evaluate and monitor subcontracting vendors to ensure adequate vendor capacity and their effective management to ensure timely inflow of materials to meet manufacturing demand as well as meet cost targets. Enhance vendor capacity as needed and ensure scalability as per business demands. 3. Process Improvements: Identify areas/process requiring improvements at vendors end, work out actions and align with quality/order management teams to improve supplier performance on quality, delivery and cost parameters. 4. In-house Machine Shop: Monitor the in-house machine shop output and performance. Make effective make/ buy decisions to optimally use the existing in-house capacity for critical items and outsource through effective vendor management. 5. Cost Reduction: Monitor the Price trends for Major material commodities to ensure right procurement costs. To have structured negotiations with key vendors/ suppliers to establish rate contracts and achieve cost reduction. 6. Project Purchase: Overall responsibility for Procurement of all items related to Projects, capital procurement. Defining right procurement strategy at the project planning phase and ensuring on-time and complete delivery in proper coordination with the Project management teams.Job tags
