Job description

• Movement of import cargo from origin mainly by sea mode of transport
• Floating freight enquiry, quotation comparison, freight negociation with FF
• Continous follow up with Freight forwarders for shipment booking,cargo pickup,vessel schedule,ETD,ETA, freight certificates, final BL
• Coordinate with buyers for receipt of documents for clearance & handing over to CHA
• Coordinate with CHA to ensure smooth custom clearance of consignments once they arrive at the port
• Verifying & approving Bill of entry & Bill of Lading & handling all import documentation
• Continous follow up with CHA for movement of cargo from port to factory on time
• Verifying shipments bills received from FF & Clearance agent
• Coordinating with accounts team for custom duty payment, vendor payments
• Coordinating with Goods inward team for material receipts & BOE issues
• Resolving queries & any issues raised by Indian customs by finding out root cause
• Tracking shipments daily and keeping the shipment tracker up to datePreparing weekly Freight Charges report
• Keeping weekly record of demurrage charges
• Prepating weekly custom duty estimate report
• Updating HSN code file from time to time
• Preparing certificates required by customs, EPRA, CE Certificate, Duty Benefit certificate
• Working on overall logistics costs & taking measures to reduce cost to company
• Providing freight & custom duty calculations to requestee as and when they require
• Providing import data to export team for certifificate preparation from time to time
• Handling import of special cargo (FCL) such as capital equipment occasionally
• Managing all tasks related to Air/Courier shipments and ensure things to happen without delay and with proper follow ups.
