Job description
Position: Senior Manager-Finance
This position holder will play a critical role in driving the financial strategy and operations of our renewable energy company. Reporting directly to the Directors and Board, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and reporting. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including project development, operations, legal, and investor relations, to ensure sound financial practices and compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
Responsibilities
● Develop and implement the company's financial strategy, goals, and policies to support its renewable energy business objectives.
● Lead financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling, to provide accurate and timely financial information (to whom, the executive bodies, board of directors, advisors, and shareholders) for decision-making.
● Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls, to ensure compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (AS) and other relevant accounting standards (GAAP and IFRS is a plus).
● Provide financial guidance and support to project development teams, including financial due diligence, financial structuring, and investment analysis, to evaluate potential renewable energy projects.
● Prepare financial reports and presentations for executive management, board of directors, and external stakeholders, including investors, lenders, and regulators.
● Monitor and analyse key financial performance metrics, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improvement to optimise financial performance and mitigate risks.
● Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and tax requirements related to renewable energy projects.
● Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, and investors, to maintain strong financial partnerships and facilitate funding for renewable energy projects.
● Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes in the renewable energy sector, and provide strategic insights to drive business growth and sustainability.
Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field; MBA or CA preferred.
● Proven experience (minimum 7 years) in financial management, preferably in the renewable energy or power sector, with a strong understanding of renewable energy project finance, tax equity, and debt financing.
● Excellent financial planning and analysis skills, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and investment analysis.
● Strong knowledge of Indian AS and other relevant accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS is a plus), as well as relevant laws, regulations, and tax requirements related to renewable energy projects.
● Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a finance team, as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
● Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
● Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
● Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
● Proficient in financial software and tools, financial modelling software, and Microsoft Office Suite. If you do not have the following minimum skill-set, please do not apply!
● Minimum 7 years experience in financial management, that includes modelling, planning, budgeting, forecasting, controlling, and bank liaisoning.
