Job description
Systems technicians support users with issues related to computer systems and act as the first line support for users hardware and software requirement in an office environment and offshore(or working remotely); they are also responsible for supporting the IT network and Audio-Video set up on any given site which requires IT functions. On a day-to-day basis, Systems technicians will be required to troubleshoot, identify and resolve issues to ensure that IT equipment and software downtime is minimized.
Key skills:
- Ensure the installation, configuration and maintenance and troubleshoot issues related to IT hardware, software, network and AV equipment
- Make repairs and respond to support calls (in person or over the phone) and prioritize requests for IT support
- Supports remote users in a timely and efficient manner to minimize down time
- Provide technical advice and explanation as required
- Assist in training related to technical issues
- Supports/facilitate moves to ensure continuity of availability for the company's IT systems (software and hardware)
- Assists in projects and Operational tasks with other IT teams or external vendors
- Inventory keeping and report damaged/ broken equipment so that replacements can be ordered
- Liaise with managers to ascertain user requirements and budgetary constraints
- Monitor use of company IT systems and ensures compliance with company's IT security policies and standards
Detailed set of tasks: Hardware Management:
o Any PC/PC accessory related hardware issue
o Building workstations
o Phone/Phone accessories issues
o Handling Hardware upgrades
o Workstation movement requests
o Handling Loaner devices (Laptops/mobiles/Mifi Devices/SIMs)
o Fixing h/w issues w.r.t Desktops / monitors / laptops / Computer-accessories / Mifi Devices/mobiles
Audits: o POC for all the hardware audits.
o Managing inventory /Purchases
o Hardware refreshes and e-waste
Software/Troubleshooting: o Troubleshooting OS issues
o Updating/upgrading software
o Troubleshoot issues related to desktop installed software
o Troubleshooting
Audio/video: o Troubleshooting / Handling / Installing various AV equipment (both audio/video)
o Video recordings
o Vendor coordination for quotes/evaluation of various AV equipment
o Working with smart devices like Smart TVs/iPads/Recorders etc.
o Daily conference room checks
o Working with Projectors & VCUs
