RTI is now assisting development of a sustainable packaging strategy for a FMCG major. In the first phase of this assignment, RTI has already conducted a peer analysis to analyze sustainable packaging guidelines and allied activities being adopted by other FMCG majors. For implementing the next phase, RTI is seeking an experienced individual as a consultant to support development of sustainable packaging guidelines for this FMCG company. Note - This is a contractual role, please apply only if you are comfortable with taking up a part time contractual role. This individual will be working with other team members including: 1. RTI Team Leader 2. Strategy Specialist 3. Sustainable Packaging Material Specialist (focused on packaging business) Scope: Activities required to be undertaken are detailed below: Develop strategy in discussion with client’s business divisions with an emphasis on establishing sustainable packaging guidelines, considering following aspects: a. trendsetting nature of this indicator, i.e., no. of peers who have decided to adopt the indicator b. convergence with Indian regulatory landscape, c. alignment with typical FMCG/ retail business models observed in Indian d. alignment with customer preferences in client markets e. cost and time implications on the basis of i. typical approach the company should adopt to integrate these indicators ii. need for other ecosystem enablers through policy advocacy, partnerships, etc. Seek senior management buy-in on draft list of prioritized sustainable packaging guidelines For the prioritized guidelines, conduct consultations with client business teams to agree on possible pathways for introducing these indicators in the proposed sustainable packaging guideline, including: a. proposed governance structures with roles and responsibilities b. list of potential KPIs for tracking progress of interventions (details reg. data source, collection modalities, quality expectations, data owners, etc. are beyond scope of this assignment) - targets corresponding to KPIs will be solicited from FMCG business teams c. high-level external branding, marketing, and reporting plan d. support required from other divisions of the client Draft and secure management approval on the sustainable packaging guidelines Any other task that may be mutually agreed. Qualifications: Bachelors/Master’s degree in sustainability/packaging/circular economy/management or related fields with previous work experience in sustainable packaging (12-15 years or more) is required. Duration : April 1 – 30 September 2024. Level of Effort : Part time, with regular meetings with RTI, client, and other stakeholders as relevant. Trave l: Short trips within India to metro locations for stakeholder consultation maybe required. Travel will be undertaken if mutually agreed. Travel cost will be separately covered.Job tags
