Job description
Nextgen Clearing is seeking a talented and experienced Assistant Manager - Compliance to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of compliance, and industrial relations within the company. You will ensure that the company and its employees comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies, and promote a positive and harmonious working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Legal Compliance:
- Monitor and interpret changes in labor laws, regulations, and statutory requirements specific to India.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal obligations.
- Conduct regular internal evaluations to assess adherence to legal standards.
- Collaborate with legal counsel to address any compliance issues promptly.
- Prepare and submit all required government returns, including tax filings, PF, ESI, and other statutory reports.
- Stay updated on changes in government reporting requirements and adjust processes accordingly.
- Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely disbursement.
- Coordinate with finance and HR teams to resolve payroll-related queries.
- Maintain records related to salary, benefits, and deductions.
- Documentation and Recordkeeping:
- Maintain an organized system for HR documentation, including employment contracts, employee files, and policy manuals.
- Ensure proper record retention and confidentiality.
- Assist in audits related to documentation and recordkeeping.
- Generate regular compliance reports for management and relevant authorities.
- Analyze trends, identify areas of improvement, and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with HR analytics teams to enhance data-driven decision-making.
- Plan and conduct internal compliance audits.
- Collaborate with external auditors during statutory audits.
- Address audit findings and implement corrective measures.
- Training and Communication:
- Train employees on compliance-related matters, including policies, procedures, and ethical conduct.
- Communicate changes in regulations and policies effectively across the organization.
- Identify potential compliance risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to minimize legal liabilities
Requirements
- Master's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in HR compliance, and industrial relations
- Strong knowledge of Indian labor laws, PF, ESI, and other statutory requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership abilities and the ability to build positive relationships with employees and stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus
