Job Description

Job Context: The Mineral Resources & Mining Business of the Aditya Birla Group is in Expansion mode catering to Coal, Iron Ore & recently acquired Diamond Mines. So at Business level a Central Engg & Project Function has been incorporated.

In this context this position aims to plan, direct, monitor Railway Projects at Amelia in order to ensure that projects are constructed and commissioned following all safety norms within targeted timelines and budgeted costs.

The profile reports to Joint President - Railway Projects for the Business and requires knowledge of Railways functioning and coordination at Area, Division & Zonal Levels. Preferably he should be a Civil Engineer with past experience of 20 years in planning, execution & commissioning of Railway Projects and O&M of siding systems once commissioned. Contacts in WCR will be an advantage.

Key Activities

1. Meeting and coordination with Railway Officials of West Central Railway(WCR) at Jabalpur and local Railway officials in Deoragram station for Amelia.

1. Project Site- Following all safety norms, Construction monitoring & review

1. Contract Management and execution as per the contract

1. Managing Local stakeholders for smooth project execution

1. MIS

Key Challenges

1. Coordinating with Railway officials in order to get expeditious necessary approvals of Eng. Drawings and other documents, Rake allocation and operation coordination.

1. Interacting with other site teams for other Project execution.

1. Coordination with different departments for implementation of standardized Contract and compliance documents.

1. Develop & train junior site engineers in the Specialized knowledge of Rly standards, design, approvals of drawings, construction & commissioning of Multimodal cargo Terminal (Railway sidings).

1. Standardization of the best Practices across the unit.

• 11. Monitoring of budget and cost control

Design & Planning of required Railway infrastructure including -Multimodal Cargo Terminal(Rly siding), connectivity to Rly mainline, getting requisite Rly approvals for Amelia within targeted timelines

Regular meeting with Railway Officials of West Central Railway at Jabalpur for Amelia

Ensure that targeted Project timelines are met

Project execution and Monitoring at site

• Local Area Level Railway coordination
• Local stakeholders' management.

Contract Management

Ensure that Project cost is within budgeted cost

• Project cost control and review

Contract management
Maintaining all safety norms -Zero fatality target

• Develop Safe Work Procedures for site.

Ensure 100 % compliance to all safety norms
