SA Level Job Description Job Summary:
This role will establish and enforce standards, process, and rigor around the scheduling of all production jobs & having Control-M Administration skills. The successful applicant will serve as a single point of contact for all scheduling requests in QA and Production & other environments. The role will primarily focus on distributed systems, however mainframe experience and skills would be highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
- The individual will work within the change management and incident management framework to update the Control-M scheduling environment as needed.
- Manage batch workload in Production Control for Control-M. Identify and fix common issues, alert support staff when problems develop, escalate issues to management when SLA's may be breached, and document all issues in writing.
- Efficient use of system tools (i.e. BMC's Control-M/Enterprise Manager or similar job scheduling tools).
- Work with application developmental teams to help them understand the tools needs, its behavior and develop their applications to best work within the scheduler tool; also to work with applications and infrastructure support teams to find root cause for job failures and resolve issues quickly
- Set up jobs in Developmental/Model/Production environments and test / troubleshoot with application developmental teams
- Troubleshoot and communicate OS, Application and User level issues
- Should have good Control-M admin, job migration experience
- Analyzes event messages to determine point of equipment or program failure
- Prioritizes and runs batch jobs based on available resources and scheduling requirements. Scheduling various types of jobs using Control-M job forms.
- Assists in set up of file transfers jobs & other Control-M plugin knowledge.
- Experience in Manipulating jobs and workflows, ordering jobs into the active environment, new day process, Scheduling jobs with periodic calendars, Configuring periodic statistic collection using periodic calendars & Time zones, Defining jobs based on the conditions resources, parameters with statement & action steps.
- Experience in General, history & Audit reports
- Defining, managing, and tracking Batch Impact manager services, Leveraging forecast for business needs, Preparing and using What-If Scenarios
- Candidate should have good migration skills. Should have migrated jobs from other tools (VTOM, Autosys,TWS,UC4,Native scheduler)
Requirements:
5+ years of Control-M experience with Hands on Control-M
Working knowledge of UNIX, Linux, Windows Environments & and SQL queries
ITIL knowledgeable
Strong ability to understand and monitor computer operations on multiple systems, subsystems, and platforms.
